NOVAK, alice marina

where would one even begin with a person like alice? for one, she can be a bit of a hothead. though she may have a temper, don't take her as the type to lash out at you. alice isn't a fighter, she prefers to be a lover. fighting is pointless if you ask her. alice tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, trusting most who come into her life. which is why she usually gets herself hurt. however, as many times as she's been hurt she can't help but to pick herself up, along with her spirit. she isn't the type to give up hope, especially on people she cares about. alice's loyalty knows know bounds. she'd go through thick and thin, ice and fire, for someone. if her feelings are no longer platonic, alice will casually test the waters before making a move. unless, of course, her feelings are pulled around. then she'd push herself to do something. once in a relationship, alice is undoubtedly faithful to her girlfriend. though not romantic by nature, alice does her best to keep the flame burning. whether that be by cheesy (but sweet, no less) poetry, candlelit dinners, night picnics, random gifts of appreciation. alice likes to let those around her, know that she cares about them. especially the one she's fallen for.

once alice has set her mind on something, it's extremely difficult to sway her from that decision. there are ways, of course, but it's still quite a hard task to accomplish. "stubborn as an ass" is what her father would say, which most would agree upon. alice is very people-orientated. she despises to be alone, and spends most (if not all) of her free-time with either those she adores, or where the streets/businesses are lively. her surroundings tend to inspire and mold her into adapting to most situations. though she may live an eventful and adventurous, carefree life- alice is by no means a club goer. an unpleasant, eye-opening memory left a bad taste in her mouth. being the spitfire she can be, alice does not let anyone push her (or those she cares about) around. not to the point of being overprotective, just very watchful.


alice was raised in an upper-middle class household. a retired real estate agent turned housewife for a mother; and a driven, workaholic radiologist for a father. rarely seeing her father, alice formed a very close bond with her mother. it wasn't long before alice opened up to her mother, and "came out of the closet", so to speak. disappointed, her mother stayed in her room for six days. when she finally left her woman-cave, alice received an unsuspecting hug from her mother. though alice would never have a 'traditional' family, she was still her daughter. and nothing could change that. that was the day alice realized everything was alright, and that it was okay. that she was still accepted and loved for who she was. and she needed that day to keep her together in life. it was the seed that blossomed inside of her, inspiring her to tough out whatever was thrown at her.

when it was time for alice to move out on her own, she teamed up with her girlfriend at the time and rented an apartment a few towns over from her parents. it was a struggle, like anything in life would be, but somehow they managed. though nothing lasts forever, and neither did the relationship. when the day came, dee packed her bags and left. it wasn't long before alice was unable to pay the rent and was forced to move back into her parents' home. realizing how miserable alice had been, her mother suggested to move to modesto with her aunt jen. she could provide alice an apartment, a job, and a new breath of life. it was a risk alice couldn't help but to take. which has her ended up here today.
