It was a rather dull day for working. It had begun to rain as Lilith had left her apartment, making her later than usual to work, and forcing her to miss out on getting her coffee beforehand. She yawned as she stood by the cash register, waiting as people trickled in and out. It seemed like a slow day, but she couldn't help but feel as though there was still too much going on. 'God I need my coffee...' She thought to herself, staring off into space as the store had recently become void of all people. She leaned against the counter, her eyes half-closed as she was bored from the inactivity. Gothic kids that frequented the store seemed rather purposefully antisocial, as if trying to prove how cool they were by not talking. If it weren't for the paycheck, she'd have quit a while ago. Her lunch break wasn't for another few hours, so she couldn't even escape and buy her pick-me-up until then. Her eyes drooped a little more as she drifted in and out of focus. Samnang ran a hand through his hair and let out a sigh as he got off his shift. Working in an actual shop was much more difficult than the juice bar in the mall, but he was pleasantly surprised to find he'd still find some of the regulars, if you could call them that, from his juice shop that would come to Starbucks before work in the morning. One of them was a girl he was shy to admit he had a crush on, a seemingly troubled young woman who worked in Hot Topic. He hadn't seen her today. His mind told him she had probably just woke up late and had to rush to her job, but he was still a bit sad she hadn't come in today. He grabbed his stuff from the back and went to stand in line, taking the time to try to figure out what her drink was with only a couple weeks of practice in memorizing the dozens of regular's drink orders each day. He played it safe with a simple mocha, hoping he wasn't too wrong in his choice, and then headed the couple blocks to the mall. He had brought his car, and yeah, he was tired, but he was more willing to walk than deal with parking at the mall in the middle of the day. He got into the mall, relieved for the warmth enveloping him and lessening his grip on the coffee before making his way to Hot Topic. It wasn't too busy yet, just some kids looking around, so he made his way up to the register where Lilith was looking rather... bored. "Need some energy?" He asked, giving his best charming smile. He hoped she still recognized him without a green apron on.

She sighed again as she rested her face back into her hand, having had no one yet walk up to actually purchase anything. She had started to space again, not really caring about whether or not the boss was watching, when someone spoke to her, snapping her back to reality. "Oh wha...?" She looked, taking a second to recognize him. "Oh. Hi." She was about to ask if he needed help finding something, but then realized he had asked her something. Trying to think back for a second, she remembered his question. "Oh. Yea... I just got to work late, so I didn't have time to pick something up." She shrugged, smoothing out her outfit and fiddling with things behind the counter. She was never chatted to at work, always just 'the help' and for some reason, being talked to socially while she was at work made her a little fidgety, though she couldn't really understand why. Today was not her day for hanging out with people though, since her early start at work meant she'd not shot up for the day, and she'd be desperate by the end of her shift to go home and do so. "I hate mornings. I am not all that attentive, so I usually forget something, and since it was raining, I had tons of slow people driving around me, so I couldn't make it to get coffee this morning before work." She said, feeling awkwardly like she was trying to tell him her life story and wondering if she was speaking too much. Word Count: 260 Tag: Samnang Outfit: Clothes

Samnang set the drink on the counter for her, as he listened to her intently while also looking around the store. He hadn't shopped at Hot Topic in a while, and the store had really changed over the years, from what he could tell. He gave her a small laugh accompanied by a shy smile. "It happens, right? It was awfully annoying to get to Starbucks, too." He confessed, having faced morning traffic on the way to work this morning, even though it was a Saturday. He rested his elbows on the counter, giving her shy glances. "So then... are you free after work?" He asked quietly, embarrassed. He immediately tried to think of a counter-response if she blew him off or questioned him or-even worse, said he was "too girly." He'd gotten it enough times he could probably very easily get upset about it if it happened one more time.
