| I don't care ✘ what you think as long as it's about me Rui ran a hand through his hair as he sat down at an empty table. He crossed his legs and munched on one of the pastries he decided to substitute as a dinner. It was the end of his work night, even though the clock said it was nearing 7:00 pm. He watched as people impatiently waited on coffee drinks they couldn't really afford to wait on, his legs crossed as he absent-mindedly chewed on the sweet roll. He figured these people had just finished their long commutes home and were now demanding some sort of sweet pastry to bring their loved ones as a sort of failed apology for being home so late, probably consistently. It made him quite relieved the office was pretty close to home. He'd even walk there sometimes, when he felt like it. It had been one of those days, at least it was when it was bright, sunny, and 10 am. But now it was dark, the clouds had rolled in and he barely made it inside before it had started raining. He could've asked Lucas for a ride, but the other man seemed desperate for sleep so Rui thought better of it. He looked outside at the pouring rain and a sigh escaped his lips. Maybe Eli was off work by now. He was fine with making this bakery a temporary home, but the sign outside had said they were closing in less than an hour now and then he'd have to find another place to hide from the rain. |

we've lost it all & i am just a silhouette, a lifeless face you'll soon forget
Jay sprinted around the corner, slipping and almost falling face first onto the wet sidewalk. A bubbly laugh escaped his lips as he ran carefree down the streets. His destination? The one and only bakery in Modesto, at least, that Jay knew of . He'd just stepped out of the house when the rains started to fall. Kyle had warned him right when he was about to go out, but he didn't want to hear it, and he wasn't about to go back and give Kyle the satisfaction.
Instead of heading back to the house for a day of nothing but TV and nagging, he decided to try and see if Subashini was working today, someone he met almost immediately upon arriving in Modesto, and they both shared the common trait of being new and afraid. Ah, the types of pranks I could make happen at a bakery...
A sneeze was impossible to suppress as he pushed through the bakery doors, wet from the tip of his head to the bottom of his toes. Subashini was at the counter, but practically falling asleep on the job. Rushing to the counter, he poked her continuously on the cheek until she peered up, groggy and letting out a loud groan before muttering, "Oh no,, not you.."
Jay feigned hurt, "I'm hurt, Ash. I came all the way down here, in the pouring rain, just to see you." Ash rolled her eyes and gave him another look, making a small gesture to the fact people were eating in solitude, and he was making a ruckus.
"I get it, I get it, Buy something or get out.." Jay looked at the menu, skimming briefly over the options. "I'll take about... six chocolate cupcakes," Jay chimed, licking his lips in the anticipation of the delicious sweet. Ash gave him an odd look with which Jay responded with an innocent look, "What? I'm getting some for Kyle too.." A complete lie.
Jay turned around, placing his elbows on the counter, waiting patiently, skimming the customers. Much of the clientele was the same people he saw every time he came to bug the socks off poor little Ash.
"Oh shi...-" Jay muttered, his eyes falling upon one fine ass man. He'd seen that person many, many, many times, though, with a lot less clothing. Licking his lips once more, he dreamed of touching that fine body. Maybe taking some of the icing off his cupcakes and smearing it on him, partake in a bit of licking.
Ash came back with the cupcakes in a small box, and followed Jay's gaze. Snorting, she smacked him in the shoulder, "I can only imagine what's going on in your head."

| I don't care ✘ what you think as long as it's about me Rui was still people watching when he felt eyes on him. He looked around, locking eyes with a blonde stranger. The determined and lustful look in his eyes did not go unnoticed to Rui, however, and he hesitated for a second, mostly to use his drink to clean any pastry that might've been clinging to his teeth, then giving the young man a coy smile. If he had to sleep with a fan to get a ride home, then so be it. He had condoms in his bag if necessary. You are way too okay with this when your brother is a phone call away... He scolded himself, almost amused. He looked back to the young man, summoning him with a coy look and motion of his hand that match his temporary smile from just a few moments before. Come on, take the bait, He hoped, biting his lip in what he hoped he properly disguised as sexy. |
