REN TUONG aquarius choreographer 21 january 21 homosexual Hakyeon Cha (N) |
general likes Dancing: As a choreographer, it's only natural he'd like to dance. He currently knows five styles of dance and is always open to learning more. His current knowledge includes: ballet, jazz, B-Boy, and Hip-hop style dancing. Languages and Cultural Anthropology: His job has him travelling. A lot. Because of it, he's gotten very interested in the different languages and cultures of the places he goes. In order of fluency, he knows English, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Russian (which he only knows a few words and phrases in). Parkour: An ex-boyfriend introduced him to parkour and he became very interested in it. He's been practicing since he was in high school. Cooking: He's a good cook, and it doesn't really tire him out, so he enjoys cooking. Drawing: He likes to draw using traditional media. It's his way of winding down and relaxing. an example Exercise: Working in a gym, naturally he also enjoys exercising. Tae Kwon Do: His parents suggested it when he was young, and now he's a black belt. He stil enjoys taking classes every now and then, but ultimately he practices on his own. dislikes The Notion of Family: His own family disowned him. He tried to reach out to his extended family and they turned their backs on him, so he doesn't believe all the "nonsense" about family. The Thought of One Day Having Real Bills: Living out of his car has spoiled him, having less than $200 each month to pay on bills. Being Called Homeless: Just because he doesn't have a stationary home, some people assume he is struggling, he is not. Homophobia: Because of bad experiences with his family and a lot of his old friends, he's really grown to hate this irrational fear. strengths Strong-Willed, Witty, Inventive, Artistic, Great Listener weaknesses Stubborn, Sarcastic, Aloof, Hates humanity fears Being alone for the rest of his life, his laptop giving up on him habits mutters to himself in different languages, dancing like no one's watdhing personality Ren is both outgoing, friendly, and personable, while at the same time being weary of people, not quick to trust others, and doesn't have many friends. He's friendly at first meeting, but a person won't really get to know or understand him until Ren's known them for a while. He's a completely different person with his best friend, a girl he met in high school who by now everyone mistakes as his girlfriend. With her, he's cuddly, friendly, outgoing, sarcastic, and even happy around her. history Ren was born to two Vietnamese-American parents in Sacramento, California. Growing up, he lived a pretty normal life, outside of Vietnamese classes after school every other day. He made his own friends and came into himself quite well. But his understanding of his self made him realize quite quickly he was gay. But his father would make comments if they'd even just go into San Francisco. His mother would nod along in agreement to news clips talking about homophobia or hate crimes. For the longest time, he was scared to tell them. He finally got the nerve to say something when he was sixteen. Immediately, he was kicked out of the house. Calling his other relatives just proved his parents had called them first. Hopeless, but thankfully with a car, a part-time job, and a kindly neighbor, he managed to finish high school with a roof still over his head, for a meager fee of $100 a month to help the old lady pay for food. Unfortunately, that situation didn't last long, as at around eighteen years old, one day the old lady had come home early from her errands, and caught Ren and his boyfriend-at-the-time in bed. She flipped, telling him he had to be out of the house by the end of the week and no other men were allowed to visit him until then. Ren began living out of his car after that. Luckily, his part-time job had escalated to a full time position teaching a dance classes at the gym he had been a part-timer at before. He's since been able to buy a newer car, and all the necessary things needed to successfully live in one's vehicle, making it rather homey at night and rather professional during the day. He's stated many times before he's thankful for the job at the gym, as it provides him free access to a micro kitchen and showers. His friends say he romanticizes living out of his car, but he doesn't believe that to be the case, and often will just start listing bills he doesn't have to pay by doing it this way. Continuously posting his dance practices online, he began getting calls from Asia to choreograph for them. From around nineteen on, he has been taking frequent trips to Asia, mostly Korea, to choreograph dances for bands, often working with other choreographers as well. The compensation for travelling so far tends to make up the flight tickets and hotel stays, so he quite enjoys the trips. He's since moved to Modesto, living near his best friend who is constantly regretful she can't have him stay with her due to various reasons, including already stuffing five girls into a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment. They've known each other since high school, so they're rather close and he does occasionally stay with her and her roommates in exchange for cooking delicious ethnic meals for them. He's had one other boyfriend since his high school lover, but Ren broke up with him immediately after catching him cheating. |
