Despite her fairly small group of friends, she is very self-confident and takes it upon herself to stand up for what she believes in. She is, overall, a very trustworthy person who finds no difficulty in expressing how she feels. She treats playing the guitar as her outlet for any built up anger and uses it to ensure she maintains her positive outlook on the world. However, even though Avery is widely seen as kind and trustworthy, it is not unknown for her to occasionally mess up. She is prone to impulsive decision making, which can lead to her acting irresponsibly on occasion and jeopardising her well-being as well as her friendships. history Avery was brought up in the city of Chicago with her mother and twin brother, Joseph. Whilst Avery and Joseph spent the majority of their childhood joined at the hip (not literally, of course ^-^) things started to go downhill when they started high school. After Avery came out to her family and acquired her first girlfriend, Joseph had started to become more and more aloof. Even though the rest of Avery's family were fully supportive of her, Joseph never seemed content and by the time Avery was heading off to college, he was only a very small part of her life. During her college years, Avery learnt a lot about the world - at least, she learnt a great deal about life away from home. She soon discovered that their was a far more diverse community than that which occupied her high school. She met new and exciting people and friends, but none of whom ever compared to those she acquired during her early years. For some reason, Avery didn't hang on to her college friends, and now she barely keeps in touch with any of them, and since moving to California, there's too much distance between them to really maintain good friendships. Unfortunately, since the end of her college years, Avery has been unable to find a stable source of income. She has worked in her fair share of clothes shops and dry cleaners whilst living as a student, but has never come across a job she feels passionately about. She majored in journalism at college, but is starting to regret her choice - as she'd much rather have taken graphic design or something a bit more creative, but her mum pushed her into journalism because it was the only one of Avery's passions that she deemed acceptable as a career path, and back then Avery was a bit less willing to challenge her mother's views. |
